General Impression
Behind the classic facade in the heart of London lies a contemporary, boutique style hotel. The lobby, bar area and aisles are lit by pleasant ambient lights making you feel welcome the moment you step in.
Although arriving early we were given a room right away by very friendly and professional staff. The room was plain, but modern and clean. For a city hotel the size was good. The bathroom was clean and bright. A little rubber duck was a lovely touch and left a smile on our faces. Not unusal for such city hotels, our room did not offer much of a view but that was alright with us.
The hotel features a rooftop bar with great views on Trafalgar Square. Unfortunately it was closed for renovation during our stay.
The Trafalgar Hotel is a Hilton Hotel, so if you are (or become) a member of the Hilton Honors program you can earn points and receive complimentary WiFi.
Breakfast was served in a modern and large room below the lobby. The buffet was tasty and offered a good choice, incl. made to order omelets and eggs..
Visiting London this will be our first choice of hotel again.
Location
Fantastic! The hotel is located on Trafalgar Square. No, not close to Trafalgar Square, ON Trafalgar Square. You strep out of the front door and you are on the south side of the square. The National Gallery, the Nelson Column, St. Martin in the Fields... all are just steps away. Need we say more?
The tube stations of Charring Cross, Leicester Square or Piccadilly Circus can be reached within 3 to 8 minutes.
Right next door to the hotel there is a lovely pub - The Admiralty. Ideal for a nightcap or maybe a snack.
